Add the Hodhod live chat widget to your site. Visitors message your team; your team answers from one shared Hodhod inbox.

== Description ==

[Hodhod](https://hodhod.chat) is a live chat and customer support platform: a chat widget for your website, a shared inbox for your team, Telegram, chatbot flows, tickets with priorities and SLAs, satisfaction surveys and reports — in one panel.

This plugin puts the Hodhod chat widget on your WordPress or WooCommerce site in a minute, without editing theme files:

* **Paste and go** — paste the code from your Hodhod panel; the plugin reads the website token and address from it.
* **Fast pages** — the chat loads after your page, on the visitor's first scroll, tap or key press (or a few seconds later), so it doesn't slow down your site.
* **Looks right** — bottom right or left, a round button or a button with text, light, dark or automatic theme.
* **Speaks your visitors' language** — the widget follows your site language or the visitor's browser, with full right-to-left support for Persian, Arabic and other RTL languages.
* **Knows your customers** — optionally sends the name and email of signed-in users, signed with your inbox's secret key (identity validation), so your team sees who they are talking to and conversations follow customers across devices.

You need a Hodhod account with a website inbox. [Request a free demo](https://hodhod.chat/#demo).

== External services ==

This plugin connects your site to the Hodhod service, which provides the chat widget and delivers messages to your team. It is needed for the plugin to work.

* **What is loaded:** the widget script (`/packs/js/sdk.js`) and the chat window, from the Hodhod address set in the plugin (by default `https://hodhod.chat`). With "Load the chat after the page" on, this happens after the visitor's first scroll, tap, click or key press, or a few seconds after the page loads; otherwise when the page loads.
* **What is sent:** the widget sends the messages and files the visitor writes, the page address, and the browser's language and technical details, as any chat widget does. If you turn on "Send the name and email of signed-in users", the plugin also sends the signed-in user's display name, email address, avatar address and a site-specific user identifier, signed with your secret key.
* **Service:** provided by Hodhod — [privacy policy](https://hodhod.chat/privacy).

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need a Hodhod account? =

Yes. The plugin connects your site to your Hodhod website inbox; messages from visitors arrive in your Hodhod panel, where your team replies.

= Will the chat slow down my site? =

No. By default the widget loads only after the page has loaded — on the visitor's first interaction or a few seconds later — so it doesn't affect how fast your content appears.

= Does it work with WooCommerce? =

Yes. The chat appears on every public page, including the shop, product and cart pages. With identity validation on, signed-in customers are recognized in the Hodhod panel.

= How do I show the chat in Persian or Arabic? =

Choose "Same as this site" (the default) with a Persian or Arabic site language, or pick the language under Settings → Hodhod Live Chat → Language. The widget switches to right-to-left automatically.

= Where do I find the secret key for signed-in users? =

In your Hodhod panel: Settings → Inboxes → your website inbox → Configuration tab → Identity Validation. The key stays on your server: the plugin uses it to sign each user and never sends it to the browser.

== Changelog ==

= 1.0.1 =
* Corrected where to find the website code in the Hodhod panel (Settings tab → widget preview → "Script").

= 1.0.0 =
* First release: widget with deferred loading, position, button style, theme and language settings, and identity validation for signed-in users.
